P&D Motorcycles was originally Triple M Motorcycles. Triple M stood for Mobile Motorcycle Mechanic.
Phil was a qualified apprentice in 1983. He then moved to Ringwood to work at Peter Stevens for a few years. In 1990 he had moved back to his home town Alexandra and after getting married in 1993 Phil & Debi decided to build their own business so Triple M started. As they lived in a farming community Phil decide to give the farmers the mobile service as it is hard for farmers to always get their bikes in to the shop or fit in around the shop hours.
2003 the business had grown now and so had their family and Phil & Debi were moving to their new house they had built. They also decide to move the business in to town and open as a shop. After only being open for a year they had to take on an apprentice to help with the work coming in. After first opening up in Shamrock Street the premises got too small within 3 years and so they moved to the present location next to the mobil service station in Downey street on the road towards Eildon.
The shop still caters to the farmers in the district and their needs as Phil will still do on site or collect if needed, but we also cover all aspects of the Motorcycle industry from Off Road to Road Bikes. With all the boys into racing we are also covering the racing comunity more and more and take items to the track for delivery when we get asked to.
Phil was a former runner up Australian and Victorian Enduro Champion and is currently a B grade Motocross racer, so he has knowledge and skills to set up bikes for the bush and trail riders as well as the MX Tracks. Phil is also an accredited coach with the MA. He tries to fit that in also when he has a spare weekend. |
| Debi used to ride and compete in show jumping but since moving to Australia and marrying Phil has switched to be involved in horse power instead. Even though she doesn’t ride or race herself she is at the track and 100 % involved in the racing. The shop accessories and office is her side and can answer most of your questions on riding gear, helmets etc. |
Both Phil and our oldest son Brian race. Going to races every weekend and setting up their own bikes gives Phil the knowledge to set bikes up for racing. He knows the terrain of most of the tracks now after doing the circuit for a few years now, so he can help new riders starting out racing with what tyres are best to run or sprockets go better at which tracks etc. We are a ‘hands on shop’ and we are out there doing it every weekend so we can help in all aspects of riding.
